Prayer to the Light

 

 

O Heavenly Father of Mercy

Dawn upon us Your Light; we must

Offer our peoples a good treaty

Neither of us are pure, nor just

All of us are poor sinners, seeking

Longing, as for the garden’s dust

Dreaming of our rebirth, O King

​

Trough the counsel of thy Wisdom

Reigning upon our common Creed

Usher in good souls Thy Kingdom

May at our table be decreed

Peace across torn Christendom

 

O Divine Son of Justice

​

Veil the cloak of war with grace
Lift the bans, the bitter chalice
And grant our peoples solace
Daring to lift our petitions true
In awe we will escape the furnace
Marveling at the morning hue
In your skies, when all embrace

Righteous peace and brotherhood

​

Prayers from all the world, arise !
Utter your hopes, your will for good !
Then, as your servants face despise

Instead build in us trust, as stood
